Linen Rentals: Your Wedding Event’s Final Touch
Tables and chairs dressed in linens give your wedding event the “wow” effect. When choosing linens to rent for your wedding, look for items that will accent your wedding décor and planned dinnerware. The multiple possible combinations of the following different linen characteristics result in the variety of rental linens available.
·  Color. Weddings no longer mean all-white linens. In fact, too much white at a wedding can appear lifeless and cause bounce-back problems for photographers. Champagne and cream offer a nice alternative to all white, but so do a range of colors. Sometimes, brides and wedding planners even choose to rent linens in several shades of the same color. Some even rent iridescent linens to get both color and shine. Although each year has its own color trends, wedding linen colors often reflect the season in which the wedding occurs.
·  Texture. Fabric gives rental linens their texture. Common rental linen fabrics for weddings include organza, Lamour satin, lace, silk, organdy, taffeta, lame, chiffon, sheer, velvet and suede. Additional texture can result from manipulation of a fabric, as is the case with crushed velvets, crinkled taffeta or beaded cloth.
·  Pattern. Patterns in rental linens for weddings tend to be subtle. They often result from various techniques, such as embroidery or appliqué. Wedding rental linen patterns also come from the creation of the fabric itself. For example, a raised, stitched-in floral pattern often characterizes wedding brocade fabric and a flat floral pattern weaved on top of a plain fabric results in common, wedding damask. Sometimes a hemstitch — decorative needlework made near the linen’s hem — produces the pattern. Other popular wedding linen patterns include a pintuck design and tone-on-tone stripes.
