Innovative Ideas for Rented Wedding Lighting
One type of rented lighting may work great for one component of the wedding event, but not for another one. Here are some ideas for using rented lighting to accentuate various components of the wedding event:
Cake, centerpieces and floral arrangements. Highlight the beauty of these objects using rented pin spots, which also can accentuate a table’s place settings or linens. To add flair to large potted plants, wrap mini-lights around the base or shine rented, colored gel lights up from inside the plant’s pot.
Cake table/head table. Call attention to these tables using a rented backlit drapery or table skirt.
Dance floor. Project images from a rented projector to allow the married couple’s first dance together to be on the clouds. Couples also may enjoy dancing in the spotlight.
Walls. Decorate walls using color washes or patterns of light, such as a texture, themed graphic, an image of the couple, a favorite poem or a monogram.
Ceilings. In addition to color washes, use rented lighting to turn a ceiling into a starry sky or combine lighting and ceiling draping for a special effect.
Rooms. Create scenes, such as a park bench with flowers and a rented, Victorian-style street lamp next to it, in different areas of the event.
Tent poles. Use rented suspended lighting that slides up and down a center pole. The lighting can consist of decorative glow bulbs or halogen lights that shine up into the tent ceiling.
Outside lighting. Set a mood, while lighting a path, using rented portable street lamps, tiki torches, Chinese paper lanterns or luminaries.
