Don’t Make These Mistakes with Rented Wedding Lighting
Rented lighting can enhance a wedding event when set up properly and carefully. To achieve this end, avoid these blunders with rented wedding lighting:
· Improper use of colored lights. For example, green lighting can produce a calming effect, but may make guests appear sickly. Using golden lighting will be more flattering for guests. In addition, use of certain colors of light, such as green, can make food appear unappetizing.
· Lighting that shines into guest’s eyes. Rented pin spots can bring out the beauty of floral arrangements and centerpieces if angled at the objects and not at guests, who attempt to gaze on their beauty.
· Unclear lighting expectations. Lighting experts usually come in and set up the rented lighting just before the actual event, which does not leave much time to make any major last-minute changes. Since customers cannot see the final product beforehand, they must clearly communicate all rental lighting expectations during pre-event lighting consultations. Asking to see pictures of previous rental lighting setups also can help prevent any misunderstandings.
· Unsafe use of candlelight. Candles provide one of the most romantic forms of lighting. To keep it safe, though, avoid placing candles near flammable materials.
· Electrical overload. No one wants guests left in the dark during the wedding event. Make sure enough electricity exists through either existing or portable electrical sources to power your rented lighting.
